Saturday Style: Dark and Moody Rooms
I’ve been dying to share my collection of dark and moody rooms with you for ages. So, I thought while I am loving the Dark Academia trend I should show you the images I found and loved while scrolling this past week.I hope to make this image sharing a regular thing. Hopefully, they will inspire you if you are thinking about creating a moody space in your room.
Here is the first of my Saturday Style posts: Dark and Moody Rooms!
You can find my own Dark Academia inspiration HERE
Rooms with All Over Color
While I am not a fan of grey as a wall color, I love how the decorator has been brave enough to take the color over the entire room. The warm tones of the timber floor, desk, and rug stop this moody room from feeling cold.
And of course, green… the new neutral. This is NOT a green I go for but I love how it makes the details in the trim work stand out. Who says painting everything the same color makes details disappear?
Dark interiors are not just for living rooms. This bathroom is so gorgeous! And you know how much I adore a gold statement mirror in a bathroom.
The paneling and deep-set windows of this room really appeal to me. I love how the furniture blends in with the timber, making the large piece of art a real statement in the room. If you are going moody, art will be your friend in warming up the room. Because any piece will pop against a dark wall you must make sure it’s a piece you love. It will be noticed as soon as people enter your space.
Moody Rooms that Use Gold
Speaking of art, gilt-framed landscapes, anyone? The classical bust is part of the Dark Academia trend. It is given a modern twist by having the bust as a candle. The bust trend is often seen in vase shapes too.
Dark walls are a good opportunity for a bold-coloured fabric. This saturated chartreuse throw makes a huge impact in the dark room. (Love the chandelier too. It’s like ours!)
