Let the Cottage Decorating Begin

I’ve waited six months for this day and it’s finally here. We’re going to begin the cottage decorating.! Which is, sort of, like Christmas to me. . . but not 😂

Technically speaking,

I’ve been decorating for the past six months, but caulking ceilings and staining floors don’t count in my book. Despite these elements being the backbone of a scheme they do not put the ‘home‘ in a home. What is required are the pretty things. The little personal touches that make a home unique to the people who live there.

So, I’m going to share with you my updated list of essential cottage decorating items. Some you might love, others will not be useful with your style of home. My list for cottage decorating is by no means exhaustive either. Nor would I say you need everything on the list. It’s simply things I love to style my home with and would use in any home I have. I’ve included a few links of Etsy and Amazon favourites too. These are affiliates but it does not add anything to the cost of purchase if they are something you’d like to add to your home. Of course, I like to shop vintage and second-hand first. So many of the items I love have been collected over the years. It’s a matter of keeping your eyes out for pieces that speak to you and snapping them up when you can.

Inspiration Pieces to Collect

Of course. there are so many items you could collect for your decor. But these items are my go-to pieces, I used similar pieces in my cottage decorating year round. If you have a colour palette and stay within it for your whole home, moving your accessories from room to room is easy and creates a new look for no monetary outlay.
