Easiest Cushion Covers Ever!
Last week we were having lunch in the garden with my parents when I had a brainwave. I was going to turn the napkins we were using at the table into the easiest cushion covers ever. I realise that may sound silly. You may be wondering why I turned a table napkin into a cushion cover. I don’t really know. I wanted to update the look of our sofa, that pattern on the napkins was pretty. And it seemed like a fun idea. So, why not? Here’s how I did it.

First, I laid 2 napkins right sides together and sewed around three of the sides. I left a 2/3 of the top side open.
I turned the cover in the right way, making sure to put my fingers right into the corners to get a nice square shape.

Next, I stuffed a feather insert into the cover. I have a range of insert sizes. It’s always best to use an insert one size BIGGER than the cover you want to give a fuller look. Otherwise, the cushion can look limp and require constant fluffing. And I don’t want to do that, do you?
Lastly, I took a needle and thread. I stitched the opening together. When I want to wash the cushions I can simply unpick the seam.
Voila! How’s that for the quickest cushion covers ever?

Here’s where I buy my cushion inserts. If you are not using feather inserts, seriously, it’s time to swap. They are washable and give the best shape to a cushion. The fibre fill ones are just not up to scratch in my book.
