A Sweet Little Vanity DIY
A few weeks ago, I began upcycling a dressing table to turn into a vanity. I’ve done this four times now, so I’m no rookie. This little vanity diy turned out to be the best one. I love EVERYTHING about it. In this post, I’ll give you a quick rundown of how much it cost, so create this gorgeous piece and the items I used so you can try it too.
Items used to Create this Look
- A vintage oak dressing table. Be careful of the height. Some can be low. Ours is 820mm high. You can read about how to make the vanity in previous posts.
- TradCo Glazed Knobs x 4 in Antique Brass finish
- Marlo Fluted basin sink by OTTI Australia, I got ours on sale so shop around
- 1000 x 450mm slab of Mirostone in the marble look finish
- Brushed copper tapware from ABI interiors
Final Cost of the Vanity Diy
The entire unit ended up costing way less than the price of purchasing a new vanity base by itself. Most are around $1000 +. So, this project was extremely affordable and kept us within our budget while still looking gorgeous. The dresser was only $80 and the stone top $265. All in the project cost $ plus my time in sourcing the items on sale and sanding and staining the base unit myself. You will need to hire a plumber in Australia to install any pipe work so that is an extra cost but most people can change out taps easily and install a new basin if you’re not relocating plumbing.
