A Simple Easter Tablescape
Nope. We will not have this setting on the table when we share lunch on Easter Sunday. This simple Easter tablescape is one I put together to begin my Easter decorations for the year and give you a little snippet of the colour theme I chose. (More about that later).
If you read the blog regularly, you’ll know last year was the FIRST year I ever decorated for Easter. I’d never put a great deal of thought into it before then. But since we moved to the farm, I’ve been doing a lot more decoration-wise. Putting an extra effort in for guests is something I enjoy, even if they don’t notice it. Everyone always comments.
So here’s a little way to give a nod to the Easter season. You could pop something like this on the table for a couple of weeks and easily take it down when you need to. Easter decorations don’t have to cost a lot. Some stores in Australia such as Target and Bed, Bath and Table carry a very affordable selection. You can also use real eggs, nests (we have a lot of those!), and twigs from the garden. Nothing needs to be expensive or awful for the environment.

Elements of my Simple Easter Tablescape
- A jute table runner. (Linen would look lovely too) Mine is from Target a couple of years back. I love the informal element it adds to our table
- A selection of ceramic bunnies. These ones were from Target in 2021
- A vase
- Florist foam (or newspaper)
- Decorative and real eggs
- a glass (weird but wait)
- ‘nesting’ material
- Egg shaped plates

The first thing I did was assemble my Easter egg tree. The tree is made from birch branches that the goats kindly ate the leaves off. I trimmed them to size. To make the branches stand up in the jug I filled a tall tumbler with floral foam, put the tumbler into the jug, and stuck the branches into the foam. (I told you the reason why you needed a glass would be explained). The same idea could be achieved using scrunched up newspaper if you don’t have florist foam.

Once I’d centred my ‘tree’ I added some Easter details at varying heights on either side of the jug. The little egg-shaped plates I got from Target last year. They would be great to use on easter Sunday for salad, entree, or as a side plate. The egg cups are also from Target last year or possibly Big W. I love to pop them on my dresser with the Easter Bunny Mugs I get out seasonally. Or would look super cute lined up on an Easter mantel.

I LOVE the ceramic bunny with a basket that I picked up last year. He’s filled with real hay. (You could use shredded paper) and a collection of faux and real eggs. I think the inclusion of real eggs gives the little setting some depth of colour. What do you think?
