7 Mother’s Day Gifts Under $50

In our family, Mother’s Day has always been more about the thought than the gift. In fact, I’m not really one to celebrate the day. I think it’s been overly commercialised. A card and a call from my children are enough. However, my own mother takes the day a little more seriously so I always buy her a gift. We also celebrate with lunch. To help you out for the upcoming celebration, I’ve gathered a selection of Mother’s Day Gifts you can make for free and some from Etsy that my Mum would love. She’s fussy. So these gifts are too. Hopefully, you’ll find something your mum loves as well this Mother’s Day.

Mother’s Day Gifts #1: Personalised Spoon

Stamping on vintage cutlery is a great way to reuse and bring new life to old things. I think my mum would love a spoon with a hand-stamped message like this. If she doesn’t, I do! Hint Hint. The spoon can be personalised a number of ways and there are a number of other Etsy sellers who do other items with stamping. It’s such a cute trend.

This gorgeous handmade paper journal is perfect for the Mum who still likes to write notes with a real pen and not on her phone! I can think of so many uses for this. You could add a lovely pen that has real ink to complete the gift.

What Mum doesn’t love a mug for tea or coffee. This one comes with a choice of printing, though I like the quote on the mug in the picture. It also has hot chocolate and marshmallow sachets. Afternoon tea in a box really!

Okay, this next gift might sort of be a gift for me. A family of metal hens and chickens! If you’ve been following for a while, you will know I have two sweet little wagtail birds like this nailed onto the fence near the dairy. I’d love to add to my collection. I’m sure my mum would love to find a home for these in her garden too. Better than real chooks. These ones won’t dig it up.

This one is my favourite. These acrylic planter markers are printed with water colour ink that wont wash off and have a darling little picture of the herb for easy identification. A green thumb mother would adore these. (I would too, just for the look)

You could pair it with a jar of Lemon and Rosemary Handscrub like the one below. This gift will cost you nothing to make and fit perfectly if you are putting a garden theme gift box together.

And Don’t Forget a Handmade Gift!

A tin of my favourite shortbread cookies or jam drop cookies has to be the way to my mum’s heart. You can buy a pretty tin for her to keep and fill it with her favourite yummy treats. Wrap it in a linen tea towel and you’ve made a thoughtful gift your mum can enjoy and use even when the cookies are gone.

The best shortbread ever!
