10 Rustic Retreat Ideas I Love
It’s almost time to start decorating the dairy. I’ve been thinking about the interior of this little shed for ages now. My ideas on how to decorate it has changed so many times. So I’d like to show you 10 rustic retreat ideas I found on Pinterest. I am quite inspired by the colour and pattern that’s been used, the way the designers have kept the architectural elements of each shed and the clever use of space.
The Sewing Room
The first of the rustic retreat ideas I discovered was this little sewing shed. I think it’s the simplicity of the colour palette and the lovely view out the window that draws me to this little shed. It’s a lot like my office. I’m not sure you’d be able to lay fabric to cut out, but it’s still very cute.
The Little Black Shed
I love that this little black shed has a feature wall of reclaimed boards. It’s such a contrast to the feminine vintage vibes of the furniture. The patterns on the cushions and in the wall art are the type rustic retreat ideas that really spark my imagination. Plus the shed is black. I love a black shed. I was going to paint our shed black last year but we got sidetracked with the dairy.
Retro Rustic Retreat Ideas
Oh my gosh. The colour! That’s all I can say about this. It’s so retro. I possibly won’t go as bold in our shed but the idea that we could decorate it with vintage homewares is one I just adore. This mix of cottagecore and midcentury is so appealing. And fun!
The Pastel Shed
This little pastel retreat is simple and pretty. I love that there is no fuss. Everything is functional yet beautiful. I also love the way they’ve painted the walls rather than lining them. This is one of the rustic retreat ideas I wanted for our dairy. The builder put insulating liner on the walls though and now I’m loathe to remove it.
A Neutral Shed
I love the timber tones of this shed. The cluttered shelf and gallery wall are balanced by the simple styling on the floor and in the choice of neutral colours. I love the idea that the wall has become storage in a small space and that natural elements like logs from the property are used.
The Vintage Rustic Retreat
Ok. This is my FAVOURITE! I just wanted to leave it till the end before I gushed. The pattern on pattern, contrasts with bare timber walls. A mix of vintage and bunting made from old aprons. It’s such a creative space. I could just look at this all day. I love that the colour is not overwhelming, even though it’s busy and that the owners have clearly reused what they had in a new and interesting way.
The OTT Shed
This shed takes shed life to a whole other level. It’s not something I’d do in a shed but there is so much to like. Firstly, the palette was reused as a shelf. Then, built-in storage has been created in the wall studs. Putting some of the noggin shelves on an angle creates interest and breaks up the wall area. And every shed should have a chandelier!
The Bar Shed
If we did not have a gutter outside our windows, I would definitely add a little bar area like this. As it is we decided to create our little stable area so it can function as a rustic bar if we need it to.
The Boat House
it’s probably not a boathouse or a bathing shed but the colours of this remind me of the sea. It’s very cottagey. The bunting with a hint of pink just floats my boat. (Excuse the pun) You know how much I love bunting and garlands!
A Bit of Rustic Decor
What shed or small space conversion would be complete without a shot of rustic decor? An old dresser, glass jars filled with dried hydrangea and vintage prints on the walls. This is my idea of rustic perfection.
